Get the Favicon from Any Website

Enter a website address to find and download its favicon.ico, PNG icons, Apple touch icon and web app icons.

How to get the favicon from a website

  1. Type or paste the website address, for example example.com.
  2. Click Find favicons. The tool reads the page and lists every icon it links to: favicon.ico, PNG and SVG favicons, the Apple touch icon and web app icons.
  3. Click Download next to the icon you need.

Where websites keep their favicon

  • /favicon.ico in the root folder, which almost every site has
  • The <link rel="icon"> and <link rel="apple-touch-icon"> tags in the page’s HTML
  • The web app manifest, which lists larger icons for Android

This tool checks all three, so it also finds icons stored on other domains or under unusual file names.

Questions

Can I use a favicon I downloaded?

Favicons and logos usually belong to the website’s owner. Use them to link to or refer to that website (for example in a bookmarks page or a list of sources), not as your own branding.

Why is the icon small or blurry?

Many websites only have a 16×16 or 32×32 favicon. Look for an Apple touch icon (180×180) or a web app icon (192×192 or larger) in the list for a sharper version.

Why can’t it find an icon?

The website may block automated visitors, need a login, or have no favicon at all. Try the favicon checker to see details.
