How to create a favicon from an image
- Choose or drop your logo. PNG, JPG, WebP and SVG all work. A square image of 512×512 or larger gives the sharpest result.
- If the image isn’t square, choose Whole image to keep all of it or Fill and crop to fill the square.
- Add padding, rounded corners or a background colour if your logo needs them. The tab preview updates as you go.
- Download the zip, upload the files to the root folder of your website, and paste the HTML code into your page’s
<head>.

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. There are no limits, no sign-up and no watermark.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The favicon maker runs inside your browser, so your image never leaves your device.
Can I keep a transparent background?
Yes. Transparent PNG and SVG files stay transparent. Only the Apple touch icon gets a solid background, because iPhones show transparent areas as black.
Which image size should I start with?
Use a square image of at least 512×512 pixels. Smaller images still work, but the large Android icons will look soft.
My logo is wide. Will it work?
Wide logos usually become unreadable at 16 pixels. Use just the symbol or first letter of your logo, or try the text favicon generator.
