How to change the favicon (browser icon) in Squarespace

Squarespace calls the favicon the browser icon. Until you upload one, your site shows the Squarespace logo in browser tabs.

The image to use

A square PNG, ideally around 300×300 pixels, with a simple design that still reads at 16 pixels. Make one with the favicon generator or the text favicon generator.

Squarespace 7.1

1. Open the Website panel (or Pages).
2. Scroll to Website Tools and choose Logo & Title.
3. Under Browser Icon, upload your image.
4. Click Save.

Squarespace 7.0

Go to Design → Logo & Title (or Design → Browser Icon, depending on your template) and upload the image under Browser Icon.

Squarespace favicon not showing?

• It can take a while to change in your own browser because of caching. Check in a private window.
• Google Search results update separately and can take weeks. See favicon in Google Search results.
• Run the favicon checker to confirm which icon the live site serves.
